About

The Neutral Zone, Ann Arbor

The Neutral Zone is a youth-oriented, youth-advised place which offers a fun, entertaining environment for teenagers to meet with friends and meet new people, learn new things and satisfy their need for a home away from home; a place to call their own during high-risk hours. The Neutral Zone is housed in an old downtown warehouse that is handicapped accessible and on a major bus line only a ten minute walk from the main bus station. The NZ draws youth from throughout the region. The center is open to all high-school-age young people. Teens are always welcome to just hang out, but we also offer ongoing programs every weekday afternoon, many weekday evenings, and every Saturday night. A sampling of our programs includes: Volume Youth Poetry, Aerosol Art, Break Dancin’ Basics, Youth Owned Records, Rebel Grrls Music Project, The Mentor Program, and Drop-in Tutoring.
