About

Ann Arbor Learning Community, Ann Arbor

The Ann Arbor Learning Community (AALC) is a public charter school authorized by Eastern Michigan University. AALC first enrolled students in fall of 1998. Enrollment is open to all Michigan students in grades K - 8. Students will be treated without discrimination. As a public school, no tuition is charged. In 2000, the school moved to a new facility in the New Grace Apostlic Temple on Packard Road where the school operated for five years. The school grew to seven classrooms and 115 students completely filling the available space. In 2005 the Ann Arbor Learning Community moved to its new location in Research Park. The students and staff finally have a location that they helped to design for the AALC learning program. The larger space will allow the school to grow to about 300 students.
